After having a hydraulic rock breaker overhauled due to a perforated accumulator diaphragm the concerns were raised by Maurice Brew of Breew Construction as to the hydraulic settings on a Hitachi EX45 excavator to which the rock breaker was to be fitted

The Challenge

Contact was made withHose Doctor as to whether this is something Hose Doctor could help with.

As we have a hydraulic pressure and flow meter for 5 tonne excavators this was not a problem

We enquired as to what flows and pressures the excavator was recommended to be set at.

We needed the client to clarify this technical information before we could proceed

The Solution

Once the relevant information was received Hose Doctor organised a site visit.

We fitted a flow meter and pressure gauge to discover the feed oil pressure was 75 BAR over the recommended settings.

A pressure relief valve was supplied and fitted and the system set to the correct pressures

The breaker was fully tested and found to be operating at its full output.

Once the correct technical information, on site diagnostics performed and relief valve ordered and received the issue was resolved within 48 hours
